As many of you know I am a lover of vintage things! Recently, I was given a box full of vintage Christmas ornaments and now I can't wait for next Christmas. I am known to pick up vintage furniture off the streets of Hoboken and carry it to my studio. Any time a client asks for furniture advice I always say "the older the better!" Don't get me wrong, I love a good HomeGoods deal, the style of Restoration Hardware or Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams, but nothing beats a fabulous vintage furniture find in my book.
Therefore, when I was given the opportunity to create my dream studio space furnished with vintage treasures from Chairish I was super excited! But you know me, I can't leave something just as it is; I always have to put my RWL furniture facelift on it! To find more vintage furniture look here and start decorating!
Part of my dream is to one day have a store/studio in Hoboken. I would sell refurbished RWL pieces, in the middle would be a consult area with a desk/workspace and in the back would be my work artist studio.
Let me paint the picture with these Chairish pieces... I have always envisioned the walls to be a mix of rustic barn wood, painted light grey and maybe some exposed brick.
As customers walk in they will see in the center of the store this stunning Baker Hollywood Regency Tufted Sofa, but reupholster it in this beautiful Eileen K. Body for Duralee fabric.
Above the sofa will be gallery wall with this beautiful circle mirror...
Next to the mirror a little touch of Texas with this awesome Etsy sign...
I want to create a seating area within this designated consult space. So picture to the right of the sofa will be vibrant pink 1960's velvet slipper chair. Loving all the color!!!
Against the left wall (exposed brick wall) would be this beautiful Black and Gold French desk with the vintage brass lamp in midnight blue color. I know it's hard to see but the color on this lamp is so pretty.
Across from the tufted sofa will be this settee, but with a RWL furniture facelift! I would reupholster the front of the settee in a creamy colored linen and the back would be upholstered in this eye-catching Cotton Quill Liza Hathaway Matthews Purple Orchid fabric. Imagine seeing that as you walk in!
Against the right wall (grey painted) will be my sample area, with samples of painted wood, finishes and fabric samples. All stored in this beautiful mid-century modern walnut dresser and this Art Deco tall walnut dresser.
On the Art Deco dresser I would change the handles, to these brass handles to match the mid-century dresser.
Anchoring the room would be this amazing gold metallic cow hide from Chairish! Love love love!
Here is the room all together! (forgive my photoshop skills!)
Now all I need is to win the lottery and buy a storefront in Hoboken! Real estate in Hoboken, NJ is outrageous! Wish me luck!
